#1. Admiralty Law

It is also referred to as Maritime law, It covers topics like shipping, navigation, Waters, insurance, canals, and piracy, It is now under the jurisdiction of the federal district courts. The court states that the ship`s flag determines the source country of the law.

This means that each country is allowed to rule over its own ship and seamen, regardless of the waters. Note the US court may refuse to honor another country`s law.

Business Law is based on any law that has to do with industry and commerce, from taxes and liabilities to licensing and trademarking. It also goes into different areas of expertise.

Small business Law

This focuses on the type of legal council needed during the early stages of a business. This may include tax classification, hiring Employees, and zoning and licensing needed to start up a business.



Cooperate Law

It deals with the financial and structural status of an established company. Alongside the provision of legal advice for day-to-day dealings.

Constitutional law demands a full and deep understanding of the US Constitution. This type of law was designed to preserve relationships between state and federal governments. #4. Criminal Law

Criminal Law is based on governmental prosecution of anyone who has been purported to have committed a criminal act, as defined by public law. An act cannot be classified as a crime if there has been no law to punish the act. Suits between two individuals or two organizations cannot be recognized as a criminal case but rather as a civil case.

 

#5. Environmental Law

Environmental Law mainly stems from a group of federal enactments passed in 1970 that force agencies and businesses to take into account the effects of their practices on the environment. The law was set to protect the environment from public and private actions.

 

#6. First Amendment Law

First Amendment Law focuses on protecting citizens’ right to freedom of speech, press, religion, and assembly against law enacted by Congress. Litigation is made possible by the First Amendment Law to petition the government for a redress of grievances. First Amendment Law covers areas like book burning, prayer in schools, and internet pornography.

It`s the state`s duty to maintain public health, so most healthcare laws are state-based. Federal Health Law centers on the department of health and human services which is in charge of Medicare and Medicaid programs, health Care Law covers medical malpractice, Licensure, patient right, and bioethical policy.

It is a general law category that deals with the acquisition and enforcement of patents, trademarks, and copyright. It can be broken down into three smaller divisions.
