The Facebook Avatars was launched in Australia first, for use in Messenger and News Feed comments before Facebook launched the same feature to other countries in late 2019 or early 2020. Therefore, Facebook Avatar is not supported in some countries yet.

To create facebook avatar female or male cartoon of yourself, simply follow the steps below:
Step 1: After you have downloaded and installed the Facebook Messenger App., Launch the app on your smartphone and Login to your Account. (Note that this feature works for both iOS or Android).
Step 2: Now tap on the options icon (three horizontal lines, found in the bottom right-hand corner) of your screen. Then scroll down and tap on See More.
Step 3: Tap on Avatars. and then tap Next, followed by Get Started.
Step 4: Begin customizing your cartoon avatar. Note that the interface you see, is as easy as it could be, and anyone should be able to navigate and use it properly.

Step 5: Select a skin tone, a skin tone that best fits you. Then tap Next.
From here you can try to play around with the components, to understand how they work. There are more categories, which include selecting Male or Female, face shape, hairstyle length, facial hair type and color, eye shape, eyebrow shape, and color, eye makeup, lip shape and color, nose shape, body shape, and finally an outfit choice. Customize your avatar to best represent you.
Step 6: To save your present avatar design, tap on the checked or marked icon at the top right corner of your screen. On the next screen, tap the blue icon labeled Next and then tap Done. to complete the process.

Step 7: After completion, tap on the arrow icon at the top right corner to temporarily set it as your Facebook avatar profile picture or share it to your Facebook timeline feed.
