Running Ads on Google


Google Ads allows you to reach people across Google`s network. Here are the general steps:

  1. Create a Google Ads Account (if you don`t have one):

    • Go to ads.google.com.
    • Follow the steps to create an account and set up your billing information.
  2. Create a New Campaign:

    • Click the "+ New Campaign" button.
  3. Choose Your Campaign Objective:

    • Select an objective that aligns with your goals, such as:
      • Sales
      • Leads
      • Website Traffic
      • Brand Awareness and Reach
      • App Promotion
      • Local Store Visits and Promotions
      • Create a campaign without a goal`s guidance
  4. Select Your Campaign Type:

    • Choose where you want your ads to appear:
      • Search: Text ads on Google Search results.
      • Display: Image and text ads on websites across the Google Display Network.
      • Video: Video ads on YouTube and across the web.
      • Shopping: Product listings on Google Shopping.
      • App: Ads to promote your mobile app.
      • Performance Max: Reach customers across all of Google`s channels with a single campaign.
  5. Set Your Campaign Goals and Budget:

    • Define your conversion goals (e.g., website purchases, form submissions).
    • Set your daily budget.
    • Choose your bidding strategy (e.g., maximize clicks, maximize conversions, target CPA, target ROAS).
  6. Define Your Targeting:

    • Location Targeting: Choose specific geographic areas.
    • Language Targeting: Select the languages your customers speak.
    • Audience Targeting (depending on campaign type): Demographics, interests, behaviors, in-market segments, custom audiences, remarketing lists.
    • Keywords (for Search campaigns): Research and enter relevant keywords that people might search for.
  7. Create Your Ad(s):

    • Search Ads: Write compelling headlines, descriptions, and display URLs. Utilize ad extensions (e.g., sitelink extensions, callout extensions).
    • Display Ads: Create or upload image ads, design responsive display ads.
    • Video Ads: Upload your video creatives, choose your video ad format (e.g., in-stream, discovery, bumper).
    • Shopping Ads: Set up your Google Merchant Center account and link your product feed.
  8. Set Up Tracking (Crucial):

    • Implement Google Ads conversion tracking to measure the results of your ads.
    • Link your Google Analytics account for deeper insights.
  9. Review and Launch:

    • Double-check all your campaign settings and ad creatives.
    • Click "Launch" or "Start" to begin running your ads.
